SLAMABAD – [Current Date] – The Capital Development Authority (CDA), through its Directorate of Sports & Culture, has officially announced open trials for the selection of cricketers for the CDA departmental cricket team. The trials are scheduled to take place on April 1st and 2nd, 2026, at the National Cricket Ground, Sector F-7/3, Islamabad.
The selection drive is being conducted to prepare the CDA team for the upcoming President’s Trophy Grade-II 2025-2026 season, a significant domestic tournament on Pakistan’s cricket calendar.

Preferable Player Categories
Unlike entry-level trials, the CDA has explicitly stated a preference for players with substantial competitive experience. The following categories of players will be given preference:
- International Cricket (senior level)
- First-Class Cricket
- Grade-II Cricket
- District Cricket / CCA (Capital Cricket Association) Cricket
- Division Cricket
- Pakistan U-19
- Pakistan Shaheens / Pakistan ‘A’
- Pakistan Super League (PSL)
- National Under-19 (within the last 02 years)
- District U-19 (last season)
- National U-17 (last season)
Additionally, players who have played county cricket at the first-class level are also eligible for selection.
Fitness Test Requirements
The CDA has aligned its fitness protocols with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) policy. Key fitness-related instructions include:
- Exempted Players: Those who have recently passed the fitness test for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Departmental One Day Cup, or Champions Cup/T-20 are exempted from further fitness testing.
- All Other Players: Must undergo fitness testing as per PCB policy. Only those who pass the fitness test will be eligible to participate in the cricketing trials.
Required Documents
All participants must bring the following original documents on the trial day:
- Original Form-B (preferred over CNIC) or Smart National Identity Card (SNIC)
- Two recent passport-sized color photographs
Uniform Requirement – Strictly Enforced
The CDA has issued a clear and strict dress code: Players without white uniforms will not be allowed to participate in the trials. Participants are advised to arrive in proper white cricket attire.
Important Instructions for Participants
- The trial is open but with a strong preference for experienced players as listed above.
- Reporting time is 9:00 AM sharp on either trial date (April 1 or April 2, 2026).
- Participants must bring their own cricket kit (bat, pads, gloves, etc.) in addition to the required white uniform.
- Form-B is preferred over CNIC for identification.
- Fitness testing will be conducted first; only those who pass will proceed to cricketing trials.
- The CDA will not be responsible for any injuries sustained during the trial or fitness testing.
